St. John Vianney Music MinistryWe are excited to have Mr. Duray as Director of Music Ministry at SJV. He is an accomplished musician and music teacher with a Bachelor of Music Education from Valparaiso University and a Master of Music Education from VanderCook College of Music in Chicago. He will continue as Director of Music at Bishop Chatard in Indianapolis as he serves part-time at St. John Vianney.

The St. John Vianney Music Ministry is looking for new members to help lead music and beautify our parish liturgies! Contact Mark Duray if you are interested in jumping into one of our choirs with both feet, accompanying a Mass on the keyboard, teaming up on guitar, playing a wind or string instrument, or just interested in one or more of the opportunities below.

Women's ChoirNew! Open to all women (age 14 plus). Meets on Thursdays, 7-8:30 pm in the Church.

Schola CantorumThe Schola Cantorum is open to singers ages 14 and up, and meets from August to May on Wednesdays, from 7:00-8:30 pm.
This choir sings an array of literature from the Church’s "great treasury” of music, from masterwork composers of the Medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque eras to the present.
The Schola Cantorum sings one Mass a month, and many Feasts and Solemnities throughout the year.

Children's Choir
Our Children’s Choir is open to children ages 7-14, and meets from September to May on Thursdays, from 4:30-5:30 pm in the St. Michael Rm.
In addition to Christmas and Easter, the Children’s Choir typically sings at one Mass a month.

Play an instrument or sing?Cantors (liturgical song-leaders), pianists/organists, and wind or string instrumentalists are always needed for various liturgies throughout the year!
If you have a background as a singer, keyboardist, or instrumentalist, can read music, and possess the desire, willingness, and time to serve in these capacities, please reach out to our music minister, Mark Duray, at your convenience.
